Giuseppe Moretti
(Roncaro, 1782 – 1853)
In 1803 he completed his pharmaceutical studies undertaken at the University of Pavia. Very young, he served the university as chemistry teacher until 1807, then he was transferred to Udine becoming a professor of chemistry and natural history at the city high school.
Four years later he was sent to the high school of Vicenza for one year where he taught, ibeyond the above mentioned subjects, also botany and agriculture. After teaching in Milan, he finally settle at the University of Pavia, where he was professor of economics first, then deputy prefect of the Botanical Garden and finally prefect from 1835 until his death.
